Job in TDC

2007-07-16

Friday last I went to an introductory talk with the Manpower temp and recruitment agency on Rådhuspladsen. Half an hour later I received a call from one of their consultants, if I would like a job at TDC.

On Monday morning he called again and arranged for a meeting between me and TDC IT on Tuesday. Tuesday I was interviewed at Teglholmen, and on Wednesday Manpower called and told me that I was hired as of July 25. And so that was settled :-) For a start, I'll be working on technical translations from Danish to English, but it should be possible to assume other responsibilities as well. I still need to finish my thesis while working, though.

On Saturday, Sophia was at Bakken for the first time. She is incredibly easy to bring along to such places, because she is so curious about everything, and totally lost in the numerous amusements, giant baloons, etc. If this trend continues she's going to be low maintenance - all she has to do is look around - no need to actually try the amusements - but that's probably not how it's gonna go ;-)

Yesterday the three of us (yes, even Sophia - some of the time) saw Michael Rasmussen's amazing win on Tignes in Tour de France. Congratulations to him! That was one h*** of a ride!!!

Sunday last we went to the Zoo with Sophia's grandfather Bjarne + Pia, and in the evening we went on camping with Grandmother Bente and Grandfather Erik in Skibstrup, where we stayed overnight. On Monday morning we visited my father and Grandmother in Hornbæk before we, via a tour around Elsinore (I went to the city museum alone, while the others went shopping), arrived back home in Lyngby. And a few days before that, we went to Herfølge to see Kasper and Eva's latest wonder, who was born in the car park *in front* of Roskilde Hospital a few weeks ago. Congratulations to you all!!

Tomorrow we're leaving for Odense with Grandmother Susanne where we are going to stay a night at Fangel Kro. Wednesday evening we'll be back, and then there's just one week until the beginning of work at TDC.
