At last - the miracle happened. At 06:45 GMT+1, on Sunday morning, Louise and I became the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl!
Louise had begun to have some rather heavy contractions, early saturday evening, but as they were still between 5 and 25 minutes apart, we didn't think the actually birth was going to start any time soon. The contractions were, however, so hard for Louise that she threw up each time she had one of them, and at 23:00 she was rather dehydrated and very tired. So we called the hospital (Gentofte), who told us to come in for a check if it continued for an hour more. It did, and at 01:15 on Sunday morning, we arrived at the hospital.
As it turned out, she was already dilated about 3-4cms, and so we might as well stay, as the birth seemed to be already in motion.
After 5½ hours little Sophia was born, with a weigth of 4kg and a heigth of 53cm.
We stayed until Monday evening in a private room at the hospital, and as nothing was wrong and everything working as it should (and Sophia being perfectly happy most of the time), we went home. At eigth o'clock yesterday evening Sophia arrived for the first time in her new home.
Thanks to all the staff at Gentofte Hospital - we couldn't have asked for better, kinder or more professional service!
