Wedding in Sight

2007-05-18

Tomorrow afternoon at 1500 hours in Stengård Church, a wedding will take place between me, Thomas Frandzen, and my girlfriend through 8 years, Louise Jensen. Louise, at the same time, changes her name, and should henceforth be known as Louise Herholdt Frandzen

Hehe, yes, a lot of people have expressed various measures of surprise this last month - mostly because they "just" thought they were receiving an invitation for Sophia's naming party. Instead they received an invitation for that AND an invitation for a wedding at Lyngby Town Hall. We again managed to surprise people (pleasantly) when, one week later, we decided to hold the ceremony in a church instead of a town hall. A town hall wedding on a Saturday turned out to be just *too* boring and uninspiring. And in Denmark those two options are really all there is - if you don't want the town hall, you have to go to church - no matter if you're religious or not (that's why, Jakob! ;-) )

A few Sundays ago, Louise, Sophia and I should have been to the Zoo with Carina, Glen, David and Daniel - Louise's sister and her family. We were picked up, as arranged, by Bente and Erik, but instead of driving us to Frederiksberg they took us to the boat service on Lyngby lake, where were assembled a host of friends and family - for a Polter-Brunch (or Bachelor-Brunch). It turned out to be a great day, with a lovely tour on the lake, a delicious brunch at Nybro Kro, and a great afternoon in park of Sophienholm. Thank you, everybody.

Also a few weeks ago, I went to my last lecture of my last course of my study - Hermeneutical Phenomenology. All that remains now is to write the examination essay - and a masters thesis...

Monday last I started on my new job - to get going, earn some money and get used to everyday life on the job market - which is undeniably different from 10 years of studying and flexible part time work. So now I've got a job as a temp in Post Danmark Erhvervs, working with expectations in SAP.

Now, don't say nothing has happened these last weeks ;-)

More to follow after the wedding!
